RUST!!!

well it was a scorcher of a day yesterday so i thought i'd treat the rust on my cills.

got the paint off and it was the worst thing i have ever seen.

on the surface it was just bubbled a bit so i thought it would be an easy job. turns out there is a scale model of the grand canyon underneath.

just in time for the biggest journey of its lifetime.

so i'm off to see someone bout welding a plate on.

will post pics later.

how crap be that, fortunately i'm getting a patch welded on tomorrow

just has to happen 2 days before im set to go on holiday... its getting welded tonight and i'll prime it tonight, paint it tommorow and lacquer it when i return from newquay

trick is to get it just in time, when i bought mine it had just light surface rust on them so got the bodyshop to rub it all back and it got some fancy primer on it i think (cant really remember now), because it was so light in the first place it saved alot of work but obviously that was £150 (from memory) spent that wasnt strictly nessecary, which is obviously what your cars previous owner and the vast majority of people would think. i was fortunate/unfortunate to have seen first hand nissans rusted like the plague so was no doubt in my mind it was getting sorted early on.
