Hello everyone, I'm mattmera's little brother, been driving for 2 years now, My first car was a 54 plate fiesta, then i got a 51 plate zetec-s and now i'm on my latest car an ej9 sorry:O. As you all know my bro has got a sweet gti and i love it, he has persuaded me to get one. A gti is just out my reach as i am only an apprentice mechanic for ford so i am looking for a 3dr sri but they seem to be rare as rocking horse shite :lol: (or maybe i'm fussy)

So i'm not quite an owner yet but i hope to be one soon.

welcome mate, met you when you had your fiesta a while back. good to see you have found the light!

SRi's as a whole are fairly rare, maybe look at a Si as well?
 
I had the same issues. I then bought a 5 door one because I couldn't find a 3 door. Whilst very practical and useful, I do regret not holding out. Don't just get a car just because it's the only one there mate.

Oh. The SRi will also be slower than your old zetec S.

@nnissan, yea learnt that mistake with my zetec-s lol went well but had a few underlying problems lol.

@hally, not to fussed bout ph1 or 2 because my brother said that ph2 stuff is easyily changed over,

I had a look at damo_sri old car but i think i will leave it as i don't really want any hassle. I have looked at damo's old posts and know that he looked after it but it has been 2 years since his ownership and with the rebuild and smoke coming out i am not really in any position to be spending loads of money fixing a car as i need a car everyday because i live 25 miles from work with no buses.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, this is way better than any ford or honda forum to be honest lol. Had a look at that one on autotrader, thinking about it but i dont know lol, just going to wait a wee bit longer just to see what's out there as its just a wee bit high on the mileage side.

i have a gti and out of a job at the moment but hopefully getting my apprenticeship back at honda in the coming months all though it wont be on the road till i get my job back
