Just wondered when the shortshift is fitted, what do I need to buy to cover the gap up or can all the gear surround etc be kept?

Cheers
Dave

the standard gaiter will still work fine mate. Would change it if you can though cos its horrible.. , look around the almera , youve got cloth , cloth , leather , leather (or atleast leather effect) then all of a sudden this rubber thing round the gear lever

Aye the rubber thing is a bit rank but the things u buy for them are even worse

When the short shifter is fitted, the rubber gaiter doesn't really fit that well.

It stays on but looks really sh*t. IMO.

I had mine in this state and thought it looked better than the rubber thing.

Is that choc still there? lol I think ill see what its like then

Just been to try n get it fitted by someone while they did brakes and he said its a bigger job than it looks.

He says all the lot needs to come out to get it on and its a ramp job. Any ideas if this is true? I think i need to go to Charlie Browns again. Anyone have any probs doing this?

Cheers

If you remove the rubber gaitor, that bit of plastic is left under it.

its not a ramp job, just a bit fiddely underneath the car. i had mine jacked up on one side. took a while cos i couldnt see much and was raining at the time. its easier on a ramp yeah, but its not essential, maybe them little ramp things u drive the front wheels onto.
