Slight problem with my SRi

Happy New year to everyone 1st of all!!
I was on my way back home on the m25 last night at first when I went over 80mph my steering wheel was a little shaky but not the car, then went up to 105mph which was the highest I have ever done on my SRi, on getting home found out when my car was stationary the gear stick was shaking, popped open the bonnet to see what was going on, my engine block was also shaking unusually, I then went behind to check the exhaust, it sounded slightly different like it was choking or like an American muscle car  . I then went for a quick test drive; the car was slightly slow on acceleration and would slightly jerk before picking up speed; Mods on the car is only k&n induction, then ngk iridium plugs.
Any help would be grateful guys. Thanks.

Sounds a bit like a misfire to me. Try leaving the engine running, then carefully (May want to wear gloves) remove the HT leads from the top of the engine one at a time, then replace. If the engine starts struggling to turn over, theres nothing wrong with that plug, but if the note stays the same, that plug is not firing. Sounds similar to a situation with my SRi a few weeks ago.
Well, that would be 'best case scenario'.

Thanks guys i'll check them up tomorrow and another thing i noticed is my tachometer when stationary reads 1000 or below as its not stable. tayo

Just went to garage this morning my mechanic checked and cleaned the ht leads, plugs, induction kit and distribution cap but nothing seems to be wrong with them. then he concluded its some meter i can't even pronounce, its a meter that controls the air and fuel mixture or something which he says its very expensive. does anyone know what it might be?

It sounded more like potenteometer or something, it might also be air flow meter, then my rpm keeps dropping below 1 when im stationary, then after the 1st gear the car moves like it used to.

strange. i had it down as a misfire aswell.

mine did this when the oil seal in the rocker cover failed and and made my number 4 plug swim with oil.

potentiometer? hmm was it a nissan garage? i would like to know how he would diagnose that if it wasnt. unless of course the em light is on and he read the fault codes with consult or crypton or something like that.

My mates Micra had a problem and the garage told her it was the potentiometer. Charged her over £400 but sorted the problem (was like 5 years ago now).

£400 quid  , The car is still at the garage but he is yet to find out what the problem is, but im hoping it ain't that potentiometer tho as i'm skint at the moment, he’s gonna use a computer to diagnose it as my engine management light isn't coming on. I’ll let you guys know as soon as he gets back to me. Thanks
