Smoothing Issue - opinions please!

Been having a look around before I drop my new tailgate off to be smoothed next week, and I have come up against a problem as to what extent it should be done. The options are:
A - Everything, numberplate, lock, wiper. Looks nice and tidy but does lack of a wiper make it harder to drive? Especially in rain?
B - Numberplate, lock and wiper - With a new arm and the wiper mod this could look alright, anyone done this?
C - Numberplate and wiper - Leave the lock in - are there issues with taking the lock off? Since it opens from the front handle inside the car anyway and I use that most.
D - Numberplate and lock - same as B except no lock (Duh)
E - Numberplate only - could look messy?

Bear in mind it's black with tinted P1 lights so smooth could be the one to go for, at the moment I'm leaning towards D, keeping the wiper (With new arm).
All opinions considered.
Cheers

Remove number plate and lock. Leave rear wiper and do mod. also fit Mk1 Punto rear wiper arm(do a search for punto wiper). have just done mine and it looks smooth as fook!!!

na just take it all off but if u want to leave it on i got a punto wiper

Hmm punto wiper would be nice, I don't think it would be too obtrusive either so long as its horizontal?
Nismo did you ever have problems with not having a rear wiper?

dnt need a rear wiper never used it anyway and looks beter without it

I'd keep the wiper.

Scenario: It's late on a cold december night, its chucking it down with snow and the back of your cars covered in slush and grit salt. the only parking space you can find will mean you'll need to parallel park, but you can't see out the back window. If you had a wipers you would just wipe all the slush and grit off, but you don't so your gonna have to wipe it off with whatever comes to hand - your jacket/shirt/jeans?

leave the wiper arm, I have been driving without for 1 year, kind of miss it. do a rear wiper mod!

everything else you'll need to remowe!

I like my back wiper, dont like cars without them. My previous car had a dodgy rear wiper, wouldnt always work, and missed it when it didnt work. Not a fan either of the wiper mod that some have done here (parking it at the bottom of the window), i like it where it is normally.

Me too, it's more efficient where it is, when its down the bottom it wiped all the shit up first then drags it all back down instead of just wiping it off!

I reckon just move the numberplate recess like Naylor has, so it looks like nissan could have made it (i.e. the lock and wiper remain).

remove the lot,

i dinna miss ma wiper, and it rains lotts up here

I never use my rear wiper, & very rarely use the interior mirror!

All you need are the wing mirrors, (nearside set so you can see the top of the kerb in it, so you have an idea of where the rear wheel is) & the offside one for seeing the vehicle behind you (don`t even need parking sensors, did you have them on the car you passed your test in, I certainly didn`t, I don`t think they were even invented when I passed my test in 1991).

But seriously, & I`m not bragging here, I drive a van for a living, no rear windows, so no interior mirror, & no parking sensors on it, & I`ve parked in the tightest of spaces, without touching anything & someone saw me do it once, & said " how the hell did you do that without hitting that (2 feet high)wall, everyone else either nudges or scrapes it, but you were about 3 inches away from it all the way in?"

My answer: "I`ve had 3 of these vans, so you get to know where the corners are in relation to obstacles."

To which he said: "You should go in for `van driver of the year`, cos that`s brilliant!"

Which I was rather chuffed about.

But to get back to the point, as I don`t have rear windows on the van, I don`t use the rear window or wiper on the car.

i'd say remove the lot, andrew smiths car looks the business, i'd say if you leave something on it, it wont look as smooth.. and something will look out of place!!

if you are de-locking the doors, leave the rear lock in. That way you can get in if the worst happens. If not, i'd keep the wiper

i dont miss my wiper either but kept my lock as ive had the door locks removed, and ive had to use it a few times, when the locks used to play up, and a few flat batterys

have to agree with u n16 guy. also drive a van with a bulk head. so no rear view mirror for me. can be annoying at times. like when i wanna look at myself. lol. or when theres a fit bird in the car behind.

IMO take the wiper off.

Nah not going to remove door handles, issues with fire, crashing etc. If I did it would only be the back ones but then the hassle of having to reach around, making the central locking pretty pointless... so no.
Might try photoshopping to see what it could look like.

does removing the door handles not affect your mots???? over here in ireland, you must have door handles on the back doors if you dont on the front, i've known a few fellas who have failed their nct due to no door handles! its a pain in the ass, cause they had to go and find someone with the same car and ask could they borrow their back doors for a couple of hours!!
