Question or 2
Will putting lowering springs with standard shocks help my handling?
And also where would the best place near Glasgow or Aberdeen be to get a custom middle tube made for my exhaust system?

Depends on the springs.

Decent ones will help a bit, cheap ones might make it worse.

A set of Eibach Pro transformed the handling of my N16 on standard shocks but a decent set of coilovers was another level entirely.

You get what you pay for (to a point).
