Spacers for my car!

Hi, I have an Almera GTI -98.
Before I bought it I had a Primera GT.
Problem is, I thought that the rims that I had on the Primera would fit on the Almera GTI, ofcourse it didnt.. I think the primera has 114, while the Almera is 100.

Then I heard about something called spacers. Does anybody have any good information about it? Is it a safe technology etc?
Please help!
 
spacers move the wheel further away from the hub, nothing to do with stud pattern. if your wheels have a PCD of 114 and the car of a 100 im afraid theres no way they will not fit unless you do a primera hub conversion
