Hi there

I'm going to start sorting out the sound system in my SRi very soon - so far I replaced the bog standard CD player with my Sony (mid-price range) head unit and thats it.

I'm going to be putting in my 8" sub and amp firstly.
First question: Wheres the best place to run my amp power cable through the bulkhead? Is there a specific hole thats best/easiest to install through?

I've got a pair of JBL GTO526e 5.25" coaxial speakers I would like to install in the rear to replace the std ones.
Does anyone know what size the std rear speakers are and would 5.25" speakers fit easily?

For the fronts I would like to install my Magnat Classics 5.25" components as they are amazing speakers for what they are.

I understand that the standard speakers are 6x4" - is there enough space underneath the door grille to fit a set of 5.25" cones?

The standard speakers come with separate pillar-mounted tweeters (nice!) - for tidyness sake, are these standard tweeters able to cope with being run with my components instead of installing the additional tweeters?

Also with this standard setup, does anyone know if the fronts utilise a crossover and if so, would I be able to use it with my comps?

I would like to get my speakers in if possible as I've spent a lot over the years and found some I'm happy with and would like to get them installed underneath the standard grilles so no thieving toe-rags take a fancy!

Sorry for all the questions! I was gutted when I lost my Micra but I'm getting into the Almera quite a bit now and any help or comments are appreciated!

Neil.

not sure about 5.25 fitting easily in the rear but, i have 6.5" in the back, and they went straight in with no messin about, all the holes lined up.
as for fronts, your gonna need spacers what ever you put in there. The mounting holes for the standard ones are really weird. You can make spacers with some MDF. (they will fit begind the grill depending on the size of the magnet)
As for tweeters, i used to think the standards one sounded quite nice, till i got my MB Quart ones in there, sounded much better, i recommend getting some nice tweeters. (mine fit in even with the grills still there)
crossovers filter out any signals you dont want going to a speaker e.g. you dont want and low frequencies (bass) running through your tweeter
i'd get all your speakers amped aswell, sounds much much better (with a good amp tho)
