Spray gun?!

Hi Guys i bought an Almera Ph1 Gti bumper and it needs spraying. I fancy doing it myself obviously I dont fancy paying a garage to do it plus id like to learn myself. I dont fancy using spray cans as iv been told it will look crap. I have seen a couple of the airless (electric) guns does anyone know what these are like for spraying bumpers and the odd bits and bats? Any advice regarding anything else id need to be aware of? Cheers

I wouldnt have thought that the electric guns would be any good for spraying stuff other than fences etc where the finish doesnt matter, got a link to the one you've seen?

My advice would be to see if you can find a cheap compressor/gun bundle, i got mine for £70 from aldi and its been worth it. I've sprayed bumpers, bonnets, wings, arches, wing mirrors and a load of other wee bits with it so far and its been great. Although i'm not the best at it, its good for learning.

People always say this but its true, the preperation is the most important bit so make sure you take your time with sanding the area down and getting a good layer of primer on it before you start with the colour, otherwise it probably wont look great.

Any more questions my msn address should be somewhere :) Or pm me.

yeah, id say deffinetly wait to get the proper compressor and gun, that electric one will be useless for cars.

I'll let you know if i see any offers on them anywhere :)

them guns are no good for spraying cars, used one at work for spraying a long wall n it spits like mad.

go for the compressor, i recommend using a gravity feed, suctions need refilling all the time n can be annoying.

n yes prep work always pays off, sand it lat, prime it, sand it again, prime it, sand it, prime, colour, fine sand, laquer, fine sand, laquer

Finnaly found out my bro has a spray shop where he works i can get it done in there any advice on sanding it down etc to get it done well or advice in general?
