Squeak, squeak, squeak....but only when damp.

Ok, so two weeks in to my Almera adventure - 2005 S - 5 door 1.5 petrol 78k on clock - I have noticed on damp mornings a squeak which I suspect could be the fan belt slipping. It is not horribly loud and goes off after a few miles.

I had a clutch give up the ghost or a previous car - made a hideous screech and was related to using the clutch.

On my Almera the noise is much quieter and doesn't seem related to depressing the clutch pedal.

Before I lift the bonnet, any views on whether this sounds like a loose or warn fan belt rather than anything more sinister?

Cheers

Welcome.

It does sound like a belt slipping, should be an easy fix for you!
