SRi buying advice

Hi,
I am thinking of buying a 1.6SRi p2 in Blue or orangey-red if they do it.
I have had a Primera p11 2.0GTe for a year last year which I bought instead of going for an Almera.
What should I be looking for and how much should I be paying for a mint example as late as possible N15 P2 (I think)?

Thanks
Lee

No more than £1500 I should think :)

I looked at one yesterday which was a complete waste of time from an advert on Auto Trader. The car had obviously been involved in a shunt and and the body work and painty work was a mess. The car was advertised as being in very good condition by a trader.

I will keep looking, must say I do like it in the blue colour. :)

What is the blue called on the P2 SRi?

There's 2, a darker blue which is Marine blue and a lighter one which is Alaska blue. However i'm not sure the lighter colour was offered for phase 2s...

Things to look out for: Service history is important, they're very strong mechanically but need regular oil changes to ensure reliability. Gearboxs often go around the 135-140k mark, and shocks also go around the 100k mark. Other than that, rust is the main killer of Almeras, check ALL the arches and if you're looking at a 3 door model, check under the carpet in the left and right sides of the boot near the suspension mounting points for rust, as well as sills. Oddly enough the 5 door models don't suffer from the rear suspension mounting point corrosion as much as the 3 doors. Faulty heater cards (only works on full or nothing) are quite common but quite an easy fix with the right part from Nissan (think it costs £45) so don't necessarily let that put you off.
