Standard alloys?

So they say that once you start messing with alloys and such, you need to start telling your insurance company. Do you reckon they'd mind some standard 14" almera alloys to replace the dodgy steelies i've got at the moment? Obviously aftermarket ones won't go down too well, but what about standards?

Just random pondering...

standard ones you can usually get away with since they're nissan and, well standard.

Some insurance companies ask you to declare "optional extra" wheels so maybe an idea to do that, i cant see it putting the cost up or anything.

imagine if you were a grandmother buying the car... would you notice?

then you would get away with it... as long as it's all legal for the car and not too far removed from original equipment then the insurance company would have a hard task trying to prove that you kept any information from them.

Well I would say it depends on the circumstances, obviously GTi rims are not standard on an Si but it also depends if they know that or not..

If worst comes to worst and you do have an accident,
If you're fully comprehensive just drag the car home and swap all the standard parts back onto the car before the insurance company get to either examine it or take it away..
That way you're safe, as long as the police don't catch on at the scene of the accident.
Thats easy enough for standard mods such as wheels, exhaust, etc
But may become a bit tricky if you've done undeclared engine/handling mods haha
