Starter Motor

Well.. the starter motor on the VZR looks like its on its way out, its very weak now and think it needs a replacement fairly soon, anyone know if buying a second hand one is worth it? or is it better to get my current one reconditioned?

can some one confirm if the sr20de starter motors are the same as the sr16ves??

also, can anyone tell me will a ga1Xde start motor work on a sr16ve?

any help at all lads? very very stuck at the moment and dont want the car to let me down so want to get this sorted before it goes!!

I think theres an ebay seller who signs reconditioned ones but just need someone with the FAST cd to probably double check that the part is correct!!

GA engine series starters definitely won't fit mate.. As it mounts a different way completely to the SR engine series starters..
I can't confirm if a DE starter will fit your VE though boss as I haven't messed with any VE's.
Raceworx might know?

thanks for the input shaggy, helps to know that, just in case i went and tried a gaXX starter motor..

No worries mate, I've got a feeling the DE one should work.. As I think raceworx may be using a DE one.. Sure he'll come on in a bit tho.
They're both SR engine series after all tho :)

cheers mate ;) thats what i was thinking, but just want to make sure just in case, the ones on ebay are 80 pounds shipped to ireland so dont want to take the risk to find out that it wont fit!!

Hope you sort it, if raceworx dosen't reply in this thread maybe drop him a PM cos I'm not sure he'll be able to access this thread, being a freeloader and all :)
 
right, just been on the phone to nissan,

basically, he gave me the part number for the starter motor from the sr16ve and
its: 23300 2j206

but the almera GTi starter motor he quoted me
was: 23300 2j262

now i'm confused! which one do i go for? would the almera GTi one fit?
