Starting problems

Hi, I have changed the battery for a new one, but still getting same problems, Sometimes when i start the engine up there is nothing, interier lights come on but thats all, but if i wait 20 to 30seconds it starts. Same thing happens on long drive, car wont start but again wait 20 seconds and starts, any ideas?

I have checked the battery leads and all ok.

Sorry i have a Almera 1.8 se petrol.

Crank/cam sensor faulty or cam chain stretched which eventually leads to a fault code of one of the 2 sensor.

also you must check the gas pump!!
