static shock season

well the time has come, everytime i get out of the car i get shocked by static or something. i remember this got covered before but cant remember the cause or the cure, is ther one? its got as bad, when i touch the small screw in the interior door handle i get it, so pushing the door with the window wont help. :roll:
 
lol my b/f's mum was complaining about this yesterday :lol: Do those little rubber strips work that touch the ground? I'm doubtful myself, but you never know!
 
i want to know the cure as its keeps happening to me aswell, not as bad as yours though rhyd
 
Here we go again...it's nothing to do with the car body and all about your clothing and the seat fabric. Drive naked or stop fidgeting.
 
I've posted a couple of times on here before about how to stop it (its very simple). Have a search, it might still be on here.
 
i have searched hence why i posted, i often drive naked but only on summer days, i find my privates look bigger :cool: and figeting, i cant stop that either when im naked ;)
 
I was gonna post something on this earlier... jus never got chance... i had a word with a kwik fit man... he told me to attach a wire onto my car which drags on the floor just to earth it??? never did do it... thought the sparks mite attract some attention!

Does funk all, it's nothing to do with the car body.



Rub the seats with conditioner sheets or make a solution of fabric softener up in a spray bottle and lightly spray the seat then let it dry.
 
just dont worry about it unless u have a pacemaker or suffer from epileptic fits:P

I let the missus get out of the car first, so she gets shocked instead of me :D

If I'm on my own (no lycra or nakedness involved) then I can get out without getting shocked if I shut the door by pushing it shut with the plastic door handle bit, but if I go anywhere near the metal part of the door, BAM! Every single sodding time :(
 
Right, all you need to do when you get out of the car is place your right hand on the top of the drivers door, making sure all of your fingers and thumb touch the metal. You must do that BEFORE you put your feet on the ground. Once you are out of the car, you can let go of the door. Follow that procedure and you'll never get another static shock!
 
Got to admit I've never had a shock off my car, don't know why. Maybe, veero stylee, it's because I kick my b/f out first, wait for the 'ow ya bas....' then gracefully depart :lol:

Hehehe, yeah although she got out the other day, had a small shock, I then got out and somehow got an evern bigger shock, teach me for laughing maniacally after she got zapped.

But yes chivalry's not dead, it's on the couch where you made her sleep ;)
