please don't move this mods as I am not a member still

I have a Toad Ai606 (cat 1) at the moment I want to get hold of a top of the range steel mate alarm (2 way)

http://www.steel-mate.com/

my mate with a imported Subaru Legacy has one he has remote start and a turbo timer cooler fitted to it. its one of the best alarm i ever seen. he has removed the key barrel in his car. so he just opens the door with the fob and then sites in the car press the start button and drives off. when he leaves the car he just has to lock it and walk away and the engine will turn off automatically (cool engine down) or he can flick the kill switch. I think it has tilt sensor on it as well as all other sensors

the 2 way steel mate alarms has a pager so it alerts you if the car doors are open hood is open or etc. also the latest on has a range of 4KM with the pager. so if your car is getting robbed or etc then you will know
(4km is about 2-3 miles how often are we 2 or 3 miles away from our car)

there is no key hole or barrel there so the guy will try to hot wire it and won't have a clue as there are no wires to hot wire or even a barrel there.

he does not have to carry a key about with him just his remote fob

My mates just got a (Clifford) Viper 480XV on his car with a two way pager. you can have the remote start fitted but he didnt. probably easier to get hold of and install than one of those!

the Steel mate is under 100 lets say lol.

I am not sure if I want a Viper I would not mind one but have not seen one working tbh

Viper/Clifford/Hornet are all the same thing. Viper are simple and effective and very east to fit form an installers POV. Do some homework and you'll have one fitted in no time. Remote start is just a relay that is fed by a timed output. When the timed output on the alarm shuts down it shuts off the relay and kills the ignition live that its powering.

what happens if it goes wrong,or the battery runs out ?when ure out in the country having a pic nic which is in a place you dont even know about? ure phone locked in the car ??

car battery or the remote fob battery. if the remote is about to die on battery it will tell you that you need to change battery. with the car battery I am not sure
