Suspension help please!!!

 would they fit they seem unbelievably cheap if so i want. Iv got the same set up as u mate and ye its rough to say the least.

they aren't full coilovers, you still have to put shocks into them, they are basically just adjustable springs.

although for $129.99 its alot cheaper than even the worst lowering springs

Stay away from those cheap `sleave` type `coilovers`. They are crap unless you get some Ground control ones and AGX shocks.

Save up for some proper coilovers.

Definitely good advice. You'll need massive spring rates to account for the loss of travel, otherwise you'll be bottoming out all the time if you lower it using those...

The AGX shocks are what im going to buy just looking for something different instead of lowering springs and how will they bottom out if they still have the same travel no matter how much you lower them?

the travel wont be the same mate , all there doing is crushing the spring creating a lowering effect.

Its like sticking 20 Sandbags in the back of ur car , without the performance loss

No you aren't crushing the spring but you are correct in that you won't keep the travel.

The springs are a lot shorter, so with the seat at the top of the threaded tube they will be somewhere around normal height. As you lower the car by lowering the spring seat you lose damper travel as it is lowered.

Thats the same with normal lowering springs isn't it? So really they would be better then
But people tend to get coilovers to lower more than lowering springs.

If you lower more then you'll bottom out unless the springs are STIFF.

im after a slightly smoother ride at around the same hight as lowering springs so thats why i thought they would be a good idea

Hmm, if you only want the same drop then I'd bet the lowering springs will be smoother as the small diameter race springs can be harsh. The lowering springs are still progresive on the Almera afaik...

If you wanna try 'em then it's up to you m8...

Thanks for all your help mate i'll have a really good think about it, i was just wondering with no one else posting about these before ;)

I've listened to all the advice on springs and shocks combo for the N15 and www.nissanforums.com and www.sr20forum.com are both correct. The best thing to get is either ground control with AGX, Tein ss, hyperco with agx or nothing. Well that's not entirely true. There are a few otehr options.

There is a japanese company which I will have to search for. They make really good coilovers with springs rates ranging from 250lb's up. I saw it on www.wheelsjamaica.com and that site is abundant with information so it will take me a while to search. Another option is Megan Racing springs. Though too low (2"), the spring rates are great. I came second in an autocross with them, but they are horrible with tokico blues on the street. AGX is best for them, but I think it would do anyone some good to use a spacer to lift the springs half an inch to an inch. Megan isn't the best setup, but if you absolutely must go cheap then it's the only option.
