Suspension Rust

I've been working on rubbing down and re-spraying cosmetic rust on my wheels arches and under doors etc over the past few weeks. Today I was finishing off an arch and took the wheel off to underseal the inside. In doing so, I got a close look at the state of my rear axle and suspension arms, more so than I have done since first owning the car. I rubbed down the trailing arm with wire wool and discovered quite a bit of corrosion.

Likewise with the axle and main suspension arms.

Should this be something I need to worry about? Or is it something that can be solved with wire wool and underseal?

Photos added to better illustrate my point. This is Fairly normal then? What with this, the arches, and the front cross member (replaced before I bought the car) these Nissans are not great when I comes to withstanding the elements. :P
