 Just made a mistake of buying alloy wheels from ebay !

Thought they would fit the wife's Rover, but not so sure after reading up.

Will they fit my p1 Mera ? (Mera has PDC 4 x 100 so I'm not hopeful ? :( )

If not does anyone know what they do fit so I can sell them on ?

I've searched the threads and there are too many mentioning alloys, so I've just decided to ask !!

Specs :

15" x 6.5
Offset 40
PCD 4 x 98
Centrebore 73.1

I have read up a bit and understand some of these, but it's still hard to decide what they will or won't fit because you can put non-standard wheels and tyres on a car. Along with other issues like 'spiggots' n stuff, getting too complicated and I don't want to become a wheel n tyre expert !

I'm sure plenty of you will know ? Cheers ;)

that centrebore is far too big for a mera. I know Alfa's use 4 x 98 but I dont think the centrebore is that big either. My mates BK's off his alfa fit onto my hubs but because of the slight difference, you cant get the nuts on.

4 x 98 fits Alfa, Fiat and old Seat Ibiza ( System Porsche remember them ? )and old Skoda Favorit. The centre bore sounds like it is made for spigot rings. You might be able to fit to 4 x100 using what are called wobbly bolts. These have washers that allow the bolt pattern to line up with 4x98 wheels. These only work if the bolt holes are 14mm or bigger. These only applies to cars with bolts ( holes in the hubs ) as standard not studs ( thread sticks out ).

Rovers are 4x100 as well. why did you buy 4x98? Its not Ebays or the seller fault.

I didn't know bug**r all about wheel specs before buying them. The guy advertised them as 'fitting' a rover 200/400 and when I asked him to confirm it he said they would fit.

Obviously he was full of C**P !!

Anyway, thanks for the comments. It looks like they won't fit either car.

ANYBODY WANNA BUY SOME ALLOYS ?? :D

well just get back to the guy and tell him you want a refund if he said they would definatly fit and they dont, if not get on to ebay and paypal and get your money back.

Will give it a try, but a lot of hassle. Especially as he needs to cover the p&p.

I only paid £76 total, but that's hardly the point, they are worthless if they don't bloomin fit !

you could take it to a machinist and ask to get it drilled to the correct offset if you like them THAT much

Offset is how close the wheel sits to the inner arch or sticks out past the bodywork, not the position of the holes. This is called a PCD.
