terrible seats!

Hi all.

I recently bought an Almera from 05/'98. Great ride, but the seats are terrible. Give me pain in the back after only 10 minutes driving. Anybody knows if there are better seats available which are compatible with the fixing system (rails?). Could I maybe like put vw or toyota rolla seats inthere?
I have a 1.4 3-doors ph-1 hatchback I guess; antenna is at front-side of roof, it has alloy wheels, sunroof, radio/cassette, no aircon.

GTi seats are a straight fit in, and are a lot more supportive.

Hey Thanks. Good to know. I'll start to look for gti's on scrapyards then. Hmm read somewhere there are like only a few hundred gti's out there. Could be hard to find one .

Are there other people having problems with standard seat quality or am I the only one?

Maybe my seats are just "used up" or what? 70000km but could have been heavy person in there before.

ask one of the lads that breaking there gti they usally do good bits quite cheap, just check the forums. pay for membership and might have better luck.

tbh the 'basic model' seats are rubbish , look for Si ,SRi or GTi! all these seats have the same shape!

There's a nice pair of R32 GTR seats or rather the whole interior going eBay which is uber rare. I think I've been told they'll fit. Someone else could confirm the rumour.

Aha so there is definitely a quality difference in seats for different models? Do you mean all seats (for GX and **i) look the same outside but have different interior?

Ok so far didn't find any seats here in Belgium.

I've been told the slx version came with more comfortable seats. Still looking.

The Si seats are the same as the basic spec ones, it's only the SRi and GTi that have the decent seats.

As above, GTi seats or SRi 3/5 door seats, doesnt matter will still fit.

Think there bad try astra seats, hideously uncomfortable, like sitting on bricks.

Well my Si seats and interior are exactly the same shape as the ones ive got in my GTi just a different material! when i had a 99 plate 1.4 esteem the seats were shit crappy old fart material like felt ...they had no side support either!
