Throttle body

Hi,

I was thinking of a bigger throttle body 80 mm ebay universal fitment. I got a non turbo almera gti, will i gain 6 - 7 bhp like they say? Or will i lose bhp with a bigger throttle body?

Regards

I wouldnt waste your money, get a decent filter, exhaust and cams and you're away.

I 'v mate. Although not the cams, i don 't know wich cams i need and were i can get them. I 'm on 175,2 bhp and want to hit 200 bhp without a turbo if possible

cams and cam gears, high compression pistons, possibly springs and retainers, headwork a complementing exhaust system and a remap.

its easier and more cost effective in the long term just to turbo the existing engine ;)

Yes i think you 're right. Is there a basic turbo setup? What are the most important adds (just the basic stuff) for running a turbo without damaging the motor?

A bigger TB will give better throttle responce and smooth the idle on a camed engine. No real power gain to be had.

With good cams, sr16ve pistons and a good ECU remap, 200hp should be possible.

Can u give me a type/model cams wich i need and where i can buy them? sr16vs pistons are pulsar pistons right? Do i need also eagle rods?. I mapped already + 14 bhp.

I think s3r JWT's would be an option for you. However i don't know if i am ready to start dishing out upgrade advice yet seeing as mine is still standard, lol

Then start changing things :P

I was thinking of brain crower cams stage 2 + brain crower valves + brian crower valvesprings & retainers and a piston/rod combo. What u guys think?

Are s3 cams easy install? No camgear needed etc?

There are a few guys on here that have put in the JWT's so i am sure they will be able to shed some light on it. Especially a very sexy bloke called craiGTI!
