Hi, ive stripped my doors does anyone know the best way to remove that horrible black stuff? Ive tried a few things but nothings made it too much easier. IPA spray kinda works but ive used half a can and its just not worth it if theres a proven product out there? Also im thinking about replacing the door looms with custom wiring so i can hide it and put my window switches where i like. Has anyone else done this? One last question... how much of the door on the inside is actually structural? I can see the speaker mounts are begging to be removed in the never-ending quest for adding lightness but is there more??? I'm obsessive i know, but im looking for 900kgs ;-)

Go for manual winders for ultimate lightness. Yes you can cut out the speaker mounts.
Try white spirit for the black glue.

Yea i was thinking manual... maybe someone would swap me if they have a lower model. Have you cut anything off yours to get it to the weight it is? Every little connector and panel seems to have an associated bracket or a bolt welded to the chassis! Might crack out the angle grinder this weekend...
