Hello.

I'm new here. I have had Nissans for years, and want to buy a Tino automatic. Will I get a decent one for about £6-£6.5K, and what should I be looking out for?

Most of the AutoTrader ones on the web these days are trade, of course. Is it worth the hassle of looking for a private one, given that I know very little about the car (yet).

Thanks for your help.

Allen, London.

Buying a Tino would be the same as every other car really. Just make sure that it is in good condition for its age/mileage, no rust around wheel arches and doors (if same as Almera those would probably be the 1st places you'll see it), check the service history, check chassis + engine number match that which is on the V5 the owner has, check all the electrics work (lights, windows, heater, mirrors, a/c, .....) and take it for a test drive. Wherever you buy it try to get something off as you will almost always be able to get some money off the advertised price. If all seems well and you think the price is right for what it is then go for it, should do the same whether you buy it from a dealer or privatly. Only benefit buying from a garage is if it goes wrong as you may be able to take it back if something breaks within a certain time of buying it or something whereas you will be buying as it when you buy it privatly.
