Hi

For some reason today the alarm triggered on our car!
The key fob is green and Toad written on it.

I went out, pressed doors unlock button twice and the alarm stopped.

Thinking it may have been vibration I re armed and went in.
Within minutes it triggered again.

So I went round the car checking all the doors and windows were shut and the pin switch under the bonnet.
The courtesy light goes out when the doors are shut and everything looked secure.

I also moved the car on the drive way.

Set the alarm and all was ok for three hours when the alarm triggered again

Same checks and re set, triggered within minutes.

I checked the battery volts.
12.25 off load, headlights and it drops to 11.35 (ish)

But would a slow voltage drop like a battery running down cause the alarm to trigger?

Its very annoying so far in the month we have had it the car has almost spent more time back at the garage we got it from.

They say they will sort it all out but thats not the point is it.

Ideas and advice would be great.

I have manually locked the car now and left the alarm off.

have a look at the motion sensors inside the car, they should be near the pillars, could be triggered by a spider or something aswell in side the car, have a look there, could just be a faulty sensor or something

Hi yes, there are two little sensors pointing to the back of the car almost in line with the sun visors.
One seems solidly fixed the other can be moved slightly.
I'll now go check for spiders!!!!

No I am sure there are not any.

It just went off again so I have manually locked it.
Least the immobiliser is on and all doors locked.

Goes back to garage tomorrow afternoon.

No reply from Toad.

If it is a toad CAT 1 Alarm (C4T or a C5) the proximity sensors or their control module could be at fault. Also voltage drop had to be nearer 6 volts (6.4 i think) to trigger a battery back up siren. A friends focus has had this problem and the Proxy sensors were to blame as did my Clifford, both problems recified with replacement parts. CAT 1 Alarms are only warrantied by the origional purchaser of the alarm but any Toad dealership will be able to order replacement parts and fix the problem. Best advice would be to find your nearest Toad dealer as the car dealership wont give a shit about an alarm that they did not fit. Hope this helps.
