Hi everyone!
I am a car newbie, let alone a newbie here .. bought a 2003 Hatchback Almera last week, given it a nickname, a thorough clean etc ... and .. the only thing I'm really annoyed at is the gear stick knob ... the damn thing is worn and a part of it's broken off.

I don't want anything fancy, but is there anywhere I can get an original or an exact copy of the gear knob...? I saw one on eBay, but its gone now .. and I'm annoyed cos it was exactly like the one I was looking for! :(
 
Welcome :) Which model / engine have you got? Depends on what knob then.

Umm .. S model / 1.5 (petrol) engine & 'tis Manual .. my dad will know a lot more on the engine side of things, but its a basic 5 door, red hatchback .. no modifications :)

I don't know if that's what you meant...?

I've called the garage I went through (they were selling it on someone else's behalf) and they said they only knew what they needed to know to sell it on, gear knob not included.
 
Very easy for you then, pretty universal. If you wanted to stay Nissan and spruce it up you could try a 2003+ (face lift) Almera gear knob. Otherwise plenty of aftermarket ones will fit. If you go for the latter you're looking for a screw on one. Unsure of the thread pitch though...

Funnily enough, I found that after your previous post and emailed the link to my other half - we're looking to buy it! :D
 
I'm pretty sure I have a new nissan leather gearknob for an n16 knocking around. I'll try and find it for you. It will be a lot cheaper than that ebay one.
