Tyre Recommendations

All depends on how you drive it mate!

Ive had firestones on all 3 of my cars, and they last very well if you drive sensibly.

If you drive hard on the other hand, they dont tend to do so well. i think there dry handling and braking is pretty good, but in the wet they tend to understeer alot!

Ive been reading a few reviews on various websites, and im probably goin to go for yokohamo parada 2s next, as they are said to have a harder compound and quite good wet grip.

Im sure there will be a few others along to cast there opinions soon!

Also join up as a FULL member and you may be able to get discounts from a few suppliers, its only £16 a year, and you will easily save that money, and more!

cheers

paradas have a soft sticky compound and arent that great in the wet, but excellent in the dry,

toyo T1Rs all day long

Paradas are shite in the wet.

T1R's are the best wet tyre you will find for the money while still being very very good in the dry.

They do wear quite quickly when pushed though...

i find toyo T1-Rs great in the wet. but ONLY if they are rotating. slightest hint of wheel lock and they skid.

the key to solving the problem, break earlier, be less harsh and you will be fine.

its the same with all directional tyres, soon as they stop rotating the water isn't forced out and the aquaplane.

honestly, i booted my car in the wet from a standing start and there was no spin.

ABS = Problem solved.

In saying that, I never had a problem with them on my N16...I just knew I'd have to brake earlier because of the conditions.

ive heard the toyos are a bit soft and 'rolly' in cornering, hence the reason i was goin to go for the paradas as they were said to have a harder sidewall...

but it seems some more investigation is required!!

ok cheers mate! ill look into them further then!

it was the price that also tempted me to the paradas £130 for 4! (not fitted)

T1-R's are quite possibly the worst tyre I've ever experienced in the wet.. Worse than budget tyres even.
Me and a friend hit a lamppost at 40mph in his car because he had those tyres on, and they all of a sudden lost grip totally, with absolutely no forewarning...
He's got Parada Spec II's now.. They seem much better in the wet, and just as good in the dry.

I hope the parada's aren't worse than the toyo's in the wet because if they are then it'll be like driving on ice. I'd happily sacrifice dry grip in place of wet grip.

I'm a fan of Parada's, had them on all my cars despite the extra cost. You cant put a price on a tyre when you expect 160mph+ out of it i say!

I wouldnt say they're totally amazing as i'm sure one day i'll find better but they're better than 95% of whats out there thats for sure

I had Falkens on the mera, never had a problem with them either.. good reasonably priced well known brand

these are also excellent Potenza RE01's

Kumho KU31 for me.....taking everything into account. They`ve lasted 3+ track days which is amazing.....i`d like some r888s but i cant afford £100+ per tyre.

I found the T1Rs a great grippy tyre at the expense of a massive wear rate.....i got through a full set in one day!....but like someone said its hard to review a tyre because it all depends how, and what you drive.
