Tyres

Hello everyone i am after a set of new boots for my Almera but cant decide on which ones has anyone got any info on the best tyres for the Almera im after 205/40/17 cheers

I would not use 205/40/17 my inovit buckled with them on. they were inovit at the end of the day. I am using 215/40/17, on a tyre guide website they recommend to use 215/45/17's for a N16

Welcome. There are plenty of 'which tyre' guides around the forums so please feel free to use the search :) Darren I think he's asking what brand and model tyre to use more than ratio.

I know but he wanted 205/40/17 which I would not recommend

oh yeah I buckled my alloy wheels on stock shocks not coilovers

don't want any one to go through what I been though thats all

T1-R's are recommended :-)

I am running at the minute 215/40/17 on the rear and 205/40/17 on the front and the road noise i get is so loud it is doing my head in i took it to a garage and they said it was my gearbox so £300.00 later i replaced the gearbox and the noise is still there aaaaaaaarrrrrrggggggggggghhhhh now the garage is saying its my tyres so just asking for advice the alloys i have on car are well good wolfrace ones 17 inch the tyres on these wheels are crap cheap ones so im after best tyres for these wheels and hopefully the noise will go cheers

Do not use 205/40R17's. I have 215/45R17 uniroyal RS2's on it at the mo'. They are a fantastic tyre but the RS1's I had on before were absolutely awesome!!!

Tyres and Pictures

Hi all i have narrowed down the tyres to 3 options Toyo T1R'S/ FalkenFK-452 OR Goodyear Eagle F1'S
anyone got any info on these also should i fit 215/45/17 or 205/45/17 cant decide any pros or cons
is 215 tyres too big??
Hope to get some pictures of my baby on here soon Cheers

On my 17's i had 4 205/40/17 they were pirelli P zero nero's , they were a very good tyre, I'm was suprised to say the least, very very grippy on tarmac and not too bad in the wet either, i picked them up from my local garage for £75
each ,thats icluding balancing and fitting!

F1's are very overpriced imo, falkens havn't impressed me much in the past and i'v never used toyos(yet). I see it as less tyre fold on 205's but others see it as more grip surface on 215's

iv'e just ordered new alloys with parada spec 2's , meant to be really good tyre aswel but i'll find out soon!
