On the way in to work this morning, the first time i've been driving in bad-ish rain for a while, the car seemed to feel a bit "off". Anyway, I got to work this morning, full locked the wheels and found this:

 scared me shitless!

Off to get tyres today (it's gonna cost me!) but is there anything that could have caused that wear so severely?

Cheers,
James.

Mine did that 20 miles after hitting a pot hole. Tracking was a mile out leading the tyre to go a bit Kanye West........

....Through the wire.

Haha through the wire! I did hit a MASSIVE pothole at the weekend (done about 40 miles since then) it was the biggest i've hit in a long time!

Looks like I'm gonna have to go to a garage though (I'm 40 miles from home at work) I wanted Toyos but i'm worried to drive it anywhere now!

Id be worried about driviing on Toyos, their main ingredient is butter. Go for Yokohama A539's. Just as grippy in my opinion (and that of 3 of my track based customers) and dont wear out half as quick.

tracking mate!

normally from clipping kerbs, potholes blah blah

jeez i wrote that - but then had to speak to a client before i could hit reply - lol and you already in another conversation ahha

How much am I looking at paying for those Damo? In relation to T1-Rs (I know local garages can be a law unto themselves but a rough comparison :))

If I were you mate i'd get digital tracking done...i've forgot what they call it. When I first got my mera I was putting tyres on and they were dead within 2-3 months. I had the tracking done at 3 different garages telling me it was bang on etc etc and lo and behold the tyre wear was still the same. I thought the suspension was fooked at one point was gong to change wishbones etc.

I went to E.T.S. & they use a different system where they put something on each of the wheels and it's all read by a computer. The tracking was out by a mile on there!! I'd lost a good £300 by this time (Yoko's & Goodyears etc) so it was best £20 I ever spent.

It also shows Camber/Castor angles showing exactly if anything is out of line in the steering/suspension system so you know if anything is fooked etc

£20 is cheap anyway isn't it?

Yeah I'm getting a free tracking check (£25 if the tracking needs doing) from SE Tyres and they can get me some Yokos for £68 a corner fitted, not too bad!

anyone know exactly what is adjusted to sort the tracking? is it simply related to the lock nut on the track rod end?

Snap. Mine did that after I was driving round with sick JDM camber. lol

Problem was I noticed it when I was outside Santa pod...3.5 hours from home:rolleyes:
