Hey Lads!

Ive sources meself a set of pulsar Vzr rear lights for my Gti

Can anyone tell me What way do these connect up?

Is it a straight swop,??

Im aware that the pulsar have a different lighting arrangment,

Any help is very much apreciated.....:lol:
 
They plug straight in but the Japanese spec lights light up differently to the UK one's. On the Gti the outer section lights up but with the JDM lights (Phase1 and 2) the inner section on the tailgate lights up too. The inner section of the JDM light will light up on the LHS (I think) when you switch the rear foglights on on your Gti but the other side won't. You can either wire the inner lights to your outer lights to get the full JDM effect but you will have to wire up a seperate foglight. Or you can just leave them and use the inner LHS light as your fog.
 
No, i acually got them off a lad here in ireland......... there are quite a few vzr's here in ireland, So i found out a lad who was breakingone, i got the lights at a fair price too.......:D


Would it be a hard job to wire the inner to the outers............im hopeless at wiring...

Can it be reversed if the lights where ever going to change.......?


Would they work fine, if i got the pulsar VZR connections, and swop them with the GTI ONES?
 
well if you come across any more cheapish, you can put a bit on top, make a bit cash for yourself and sell em to me! ;) could be a nice little business to start up. lol

I never actually did this with my old Gti so i'm assuming you'd just wire them into the circuit. I used the inner as my fog.

? Do you mean just disconnect them..........Yeah just take the wires back out.

No the actual loom is different but the plugs are the same. If you got the whole loom for the back of the VZ-R they might but it'd be easier to just wire the inners to the outers.

I've still got my old Phase 1 Autech lights if anyone wants a change from the Phase 1 Gti lights
 
Yea, i understand the wiring the inners and the outers :D

But i cant understand how?? :confused::confused::confused:?? I will prob have to pay an auto electriction to do it for me.......:(
 
Cut one of the wires that lights the outer lights and extend each end into the tailgate and wire the 2 ends to the inner bulbs. Do this for each side.
 
I dont know if this helps but the inners of vzr lights light up when you press the foglight. They only have capless bulbs in so they're not fog light bright, just gives the lights more appeal in the dark.

I dont think the vzr's actually have a foglight function so come mot time this will fail. I'd just take one side bulb out so it makes the tester think its the fog working correctly.

I am collecting the lights next week....il fit them in and see how it goes

Its me whos selling the lights!! If ye done a search you would have seen there for sale a long while!

@quinzer you wont need to worry about a rear fog as its not needed for the NCT (irish MOT)
 
Sorry to bring up an old thread

But if i get Vzr Lights.. and connect them up onto the Gti.. will they work. eg, lights on, indicators, reversing lights etc with no modification?

and when i put on my rear fog the two inners will light up like they do on a VZR?

no, only the drivers side inner will light up IIRC
 
i have vzr rears on my ga almera. both inners light up when i turn on the fogs, just straight swapped them for the originals
