Wacky Rev counter...

Hi...I recently bought a Nissan Almera 1.4 gx...before I even touch the accelerator the Rev counter goes wacky! the needles jumping all over the place, could anybody tell me why this may be happening?...John

could of had an RB26 engine swap?

nah its probably just a bad earth on the gauges

Yeah buy an instrument cluster from a scrappy or from someone on here and swap the rev counter with yours. I had the exact same problem. Don't try to use a GTI one, as the rev counters are slightly different sizes (unless you're happy to change the entire thing over including your mileage).
