to determine the difference between a gti and a 2 litre almera sport?

apart from d stock struts front and back
 
have to be lookin pretty hard for a 2 litre sport, - it doesn't exist?!! lol :P

there is a 1.8 sport though but that's an N16 new shape almera and looks totally diff. GTi only came in N15.
 
oh rite ha ha, thought there was a 2litre sport model, my bad

is dere a 2 litre model non gti almera?
 
any1 got any figures as in bhp and torque for a gti cuz i got smoked by a gsi nova 2nite and i was just like wtf :eek:

Suprised you got dun by a Nova :roll: , but the are 100bhp and made from carboard and sticky back plastic. :P
 
Nova's these days come with the obligatory 2ltr red top conversion with 1.2 on the log book. They shoul've cut out the middle man at vauxhall all those years ago and made them like that as standard.
Don't believe any badge on one unless you know the car. In which case i'd go with the made out of plastic and feathers theory.
 
If it was a 2.0l Redtop it dosen't suprise me that he beat you, they are indeed made out of cardboard haha.
Even a 1.6 in a Nova would have a good hack at a GTI
 
Look at the Nova's exhaust! If it comes out straight it usually has a 2.0 in it as stock ones come out slanted.
 
the exhaust system was an aftermarket one and came out to d side facing away from the car - it had nurnburg ring stickers and didnt sound like any standard nova ha ha

also had a levin take me aswell dat day too, wat can u do to get sum gud power outta d gti's?
 
well down the line i was thinkin bout a sr20det engine conversion but anything at d moment that helps gain a few more horsies? after the nct im gettin the de-cat
 
these are d lads i ususally dealt wit for all my other cars but seein as the gti isn jap they dont have any parts specifically for the gti

How is the GTi not jap? There buit in Japan....by Nissan....by little yellow peope....called the Japanese?

search for the nissan pulsar (JN15) its the same chassis as the GTi, its just branded different
 
Also, on the whole nova thing... A good mate of mine i go riding with alot, is currently rebuilding his nova (dont ask why) with a high compression 1600 rally engine in it, and stripped out. Which when finished is expected to put out 160bhp(fly)... in something that weighs around 800KG if not less, would expect this to be quicker than my GTi.
Neva assume whats under the bonnet just from the boot badge, i suppose is the best answer.
