Weird or what????

I took my car in cos the front handbrake cable went wich isnt strange but wait for it .I have a 1999 phase2 1.4 ambition , so they ordered the said part which was wrong so they get the right one fit it and they find a problem to do with my rear calliper . They needed to get more parts so i gave the go ahead an this is where things go strange.
they just phoned me saying they ordered the part but guess what when it got there it was wrong, well it turns out that my 1999 phase2 was needing parts that were found on a 1996 phase 1 model as p2 parts wernt compatible !!!??????????!!!

weird or what?
Have you ever heard this before???

Sounds like the good old Mushroom Technique.

There keeping you in the dark and feeding you shit. They have either mis-ordered, ordered the wrong part or just not done the work yet. No reason why the 2 should be different at all?

possible but i originally took it in on friday after an hour they called me saying they couldnt get the part till monday , so i went to the place to pick me car up and when i got there they said it would be wednesday before the parts would arive.
So at this moment it was time for me to go to work , so off i went only when i got halfway to work (with no handbrake) i noticed the centre console not joined and loose so i looked at it and it looked like it had been snapped off.
so by the time i finnished work they were shut so i went back on saturday and pointed out this fact, and they just said they left it loose so it was easier and quicker to do the job on wednesday an it would be fine when i get it back.
well heres the strange bit the original job was gonna cost me £60 now its gonna cost me £120 im under the impression they broke it and they r being sneeky and gonna fix it but charging me for the privalige . is that plausable??
the only reason i went there is because the place was AA aproved so i expected it to be reputable!

Deffinately possible. I think they having you on mate. there should be no reason the parts wouldn't fit.

don't take anything for granted fella! I took my car into an AA approved garage, and they cross threaded my wheel nut on! bunch of monkeys

from experiance it isn't usually the fact the garage is at fault, 99.9999 times out of 100 its the part's company being idiot's. I've had hilarious run in's with part's company's. I would say 50% of part's ordered come wrong, not because you give them the wrong reg/chasis number, or you describe the part wrong, but because the person on the phone at the part's company has no clue about car's and usually all have an IQ lower than 5.

BWAH HA HA..

new to me that one..

Sounds to me that they are just ripping you off..

Id say that 5/6 times outta 10 garages overprice where they can..

i dont trust any garage now, even the odd one i "trust" have never really impressed me, which is why i do it all at home, my dad seems happy to pay some monkeys to play with his car sometimes though

suppliers can be a pain though, have it in work all the time, halfords use some large suppliers for wheels, parts etc etc and there constantly sending out the wrong things, some Mcgard wheel nuts ordered 4 times, the first time being 2 months ago, are still nowhere to be seen and Mcgard deny all knowledge of it despite being rung twice a week every week
