Welcome

Hi all, I've been an owner of 2002 Almera for a year now.

Thought I would pop in here and say hi.

It's a 1500 twin cam, manual, 3 door.
My only concerns are for a twin cam it seems so slow and I thought about changing the radio but that looks like a headache taking the dash.

Welcome to the AOC.

The 1.5 is tuned for economy and is quite heavy.. I'm afraid slow comes as standard.

2002 model dash (with no integrated satnav) is a price of cake to take apart, yank the chubby hole forward and unplug hazard light switch. Pull off the trim at the bottom indeed the ashtray area then it's just a few screws. You'll need a replacement fascia and a 2 part (car specific and sterio brand specific) ISO adaptor to fit an aftermarket stereo but it's a 20 minuite job. Parts from online car audio places (autoleads?) or Halfords if they still have anyone who knows more about cars than bikes and tents.

Read: no climate control (Although with Liam's How To with the later climate control but no sat nav versions even make it easy).
