what colour primer???

morning all, i got a pair of phase bumpers that need re-spraying before they can be fitted. now i`m more than capable of doing this job myself.

i have the ar2 base coat colour, but am unsure wether to use red oxide, white or grey primer. can any one shed any light on this for me please.

I think it's white for the red cars, i used grey on my dark green mera and it's gone too dark, so will be using white next time

i think if you look in the paint section at halfrauds it tells you what colour primer for different basecoats i think and also if clearcoat is needed or not

general rule of thumb, white for light/medium colours and grey for dark lol

Not neccesarily.

We used to use Grey primers alot for covering any small inperfections in the bodywork as it masks it better than white.

Thing is , if ur running on the same factory paint job , getting the base colour that it came with will be deeper than ur car cos its new paint, while urs is old.

If the car was originally painted with White primer, then use white primer, else id say use red primer.

Oh yer & if theres any plastic bits showing (ie flaked paint from what they were originally) , use plasticiser othwewise it will just leave a top coat while will fall off.
