What exhaust to get??

I am after a quieter rear section exhaust for the Mera. Its a '98 black GTi and currently has a twin 4" rear section with no back silencer so is fairly loud. I drive it everyday and don't want to be deafened every time I boot it around 3.5k revs. Also it's not quite the look of the car I'm after. Clicky

So what would be a good rear section to get? I believe the rest of the exhaust is standard as the Cat appears to be in the right place as is the centre silencer so I assume it's this custom system from the silencer back.

I saw a twin oval (as in right next to each other from the silemcer not separate like mine) Magnex on a Mk3 Golf today and thought that looked really good. I have a Magnex backbox on my 205 GTi as well and that provided a bit louder than standard with a nice rasp when you hoof it without being overly deafening.

So suggestions please as I am clueless  . Standard would be well out of place.

Ah also I would need a new rear valance since mine has 2 grooves in for the tailpipes.

Cheers

what about changing the silencer about half way up the car, to a different one??

may be it has been replaced with a smaller one or does it look standard?

nice exhausts tho

Hehe, cheers.

Any suggestions about a zorst?

Janspeed one on eBay but it's already at the ton.

E-mailed Magnex as the Almera wasn't on their list but they don't seem to want my money and never replied...

i get this all to often with UK companies, it drives me mad! being in sales myself i know how hard it is to get business and these guys just let it walk away (cut-out order takers).

rant over...

i just picked up a scorpion exhaust on ebay, its not fitted yet but is meant to be a pain, i hear they sound good though

sorry just remembered mate. p.m orange_andy as he might be selling his exhaust. not sure what it is but i know he has a uprated one on his car that he's taking off as its not declared on insurance and someone burnt his car out. try that mate

Cool, will PM him then.

Yeah it's just not wuite what I'm after. Would really like a Magnex but yeah they seem disinterested so fck it. I made the effort to say I would like to throw some money at them but if they haven't even got the decency to send an automated reponse then they can whistle for it.

It it just far too loud when you hoof it. I do 30 miles each way to work and I think I am gradually getting Tinitus but if you don't drive much and like a loud zorst then this is perfect for you, when I take this off the car you are welcome to it mate.

is this gray gtis old car, he used to brag about the exhaust having no silencers in it. take it to a custom exhaust place and they'll be able to quieten it down

ditto, I think it looks smart as it is and if all you need is some silencing it shouldn't cost too much to sort

Yeah £50 ish to put a silencer in.

Garage Im going to makes up Powerflow systems, so I might see what a cat-back system will cost, then i can sell the twin baaaad boy and go for a single exit.

Hopefully getting it sorted Thursday

New zorst on, a single 3.5" exit which is nice and quiet!

Pics up soon. Twin exit rahooooood boy for sale, check the For Sale section.
