Which filer?

Im after a Knn induction kit for my 03 1.5 s and there are two types of filters for it. 1 at £75 and 1 at £85, the £85 has a temp sensor and the other does'nt. What difference does it make if i buy 1 with a temp sensor or not?

im not even sure but to be honest it sounds over priced you can get a Apexi airfilter for 40 quid and results show some where that its the best filter for day to day use

Take a look under your bonnet - if you have a wire and connector going into the pipe NOT on the engine side of the airbox that's your air temperature sensor and you need the K&N for models 'with air temp sensor in airbox' if you don't your air temp sensor is built into the MAF (the housing with wires going into it on the engine side of the airbox) and need the other filter.

The 'with air temp sensor in airbox' filter has a hole at the front to plug in the air-temp sensor, the other one doesn't.

If you have the air temp sensor in the feed pipe then the K+N is the ONLY induction kit on the market (that i could find) which incorporates this into their design.

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend the K&N 57i kit for the N16. I bought one & discovered my 1.8 runs better with the K&N panel filter. They're also about £35 cheaper.

Right this is annoying me now, i can't find anywhere what filter i need for the K&n. There is 1 without a temp sensor and 1 with and how am i meant to know what 1 i need because it says nowhere on the internet or the manual.

read the post that wraith wrote for you, then go and look at your filter box and you will find out which one you have.
