Whirring Noise?

Pardon my ignorance but.....

I've developed a whirring noise (a kind of rubbing)

It's in time with the wheels if that makes any sense.

And is louder and more rubby as I apply the brakes.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Seised(sp) brake caliper, common problem, or worn out pads.

Touch the centre of each wheel (NOT the disc) to see which one is hottest.

DO NOT touch the disc with your bare fingers (like I did), or you`ll lose some skin from your fingertips!  :feint:

Took your advice and copped a feel!

My front passenger side wheel is hotter than the rest. I had my mrs drive while i stuck my head out the window. whirring is definately more prominent on that side (passenger) but i can also hear clonking (like i'm being followed by a horse!) for a short time upon slowing down.

Help! (if u can)

:(

Cheers guys!

.... I only learn when things go wrong, I had 3 Calibra's previously so my knowledge was vastly increased during that time but there's lots of room for improvement still!

Thats the beauty of learning tho ... and once you`ve done it you`ll know the next time you hear the noise .... I love mechanics :D

Is your fella a mechanic then or is there something you need to tell him :D

sorry hm, apologies for hijacking your thread but I could resist it.
