Spamming over Peter. I've sorted it. Paired my phone and i have sounds!!! Next phase is to route speaker cable. You said you removed the glasses holder? I couldn't manage this. Is there a knack to it i'm not seeing. I could remove it through brute force but i want it to go back in afterwards.

Hi Peter. I'm at a point now where i've connected the lead into changer port and spliced 12v power lead. The car appears to be reading the grom unit now. I'll route the speaker, pair it to my phone and see how we go!

Mine is very similar to the above but the harnesses are not in the same order. They are not all in one line.

Having looked again... I've found a slot where it will fit. I guess this is the right slot. My next issue is connecting the power lead (12v)? No idea which one it slots into. It might still be that my stereo is incompatible.

Having looked at your photo a little closer, the connection is slightly different which might account for it not fitting.

Yeah.... Actually, that looks like the one.... I'll upload a pic tomorrow and see what you think.

Hi. It was the 12 pin plug which was the one to go in the disc changer but the plastic insert guides were slightly different. I've done a little digging since and the back of my stereo is a different design to both the pictures in the Grom instruction booklet.

Hi Peter. Thanks for uploading the pics of how you mounted it. I've been moving home so didn't have chance to fit Grom until today. Problem... The Nissan lead doesn't seem to be compatible with my head unit despite the serial number not being on their non-compatible list! I'll be giving carputer...

Thanks Peter. I was thinking of mounting it in the slot under the radio where the sat nav drive would go if i'd had one. This means it will be accessible should i ever need it (firmware update etc.). Thanks ever so much. Just had a look around and i think that's the one for me. It's cheaper than the after market head units i was looking at too! As a point of interest, i've been looking at the BT3 one but would it make sense to go for one with a cable so i can also charge phone?
