1.8 N16 looking for prices on mods

1.8 N16 looking for prices on mods and maybe some ideas.

Piper Cams - £504.00 inc vat from piper. Are these any good?

J Performance 4-2-1 manifold - £169.99 from J Performance website. Any better ones?

Mazda 3 MPS injection system - Is this the best to use and where should I get it and how much???

AP Suspension: Coilover Kit - £533.50 any better kits for less?

I don't know the power gain I will get from these mods any idea. I have 122bhp at the moment so I'm thinking in the range of 145bhp maybe more?

Any better ideas for power gain?
 
It that really that reliable? How much to fit and what kind of power out put are we looking at?
 
for the money youve spent there you could get a profesional SR20 installed with a low pressure T28 on it and have 280BHP and no reliablitly worries..

im intrested in this mazda MPS injection sysyem whats that about?

I seen the dude with the supercharged N16 1.8 running an MPS system thats all.

Right guys you tell me the best thing to do with my car. Which will save me some money and get me as close to 190 bhp as possible I want it to be a civic eater :P
 
SR20DE, T25 or 28 low boost, Nistune board, basically what Raceworx said.

Or you could build the SR up and have 190 N/A instantly accessible horsies.

Sounds like I'll be paying about the same to tune it up. I could drop an sr20de in then tune it up in time i guess
 
For the best. It seems that without some sort of forced induction you can't get much from the QG... at least not compared to the SR.

Yeah I think thats why an engine change is a good idea
 
theres a sweet low port SR20 for sale on here now! £130 can get the tubo and ancillaries for £600 nistune is £700 get the guys up in scotland to do the swap for you and then get her tuned with some S4 cams 300+BHP

civics what?
 
I would love to turbo my car but I have no idea how to go about it :S

I'm not a prom kid. What I need it help haha I'm no mechanic and ideas on price and how not to blow the engine up. If any other form members want to help I will be great full to haha.
 
well me and rick can help. we've done plenty of N15 engine swaps, as well as one GTi+T conversion so "kinda" know what we are doing :P

prices for parts

QG18DE+T tubular turbo mani and downpipe - £300
Turbo - £200
Intercooler and piping - £200
water and oil pipes - £100
full exhaust - £300
Mapping - £500
Injectors - £150? (not sure on this. ill text paul (almerasleeper)
ARP rod bolts - £100
recirc fittings - £100

Personally I dont think you need to open the engine to put 8psi through it. you would probly peek just past 200hp on 8psi from a T28 or T25 turbo on a 1.8. the gearbox will take it. the QG18 has a forged crank and rods, iirc they have deep ring lands and a MLS headgasket as standard. the weakest part is the chain... but there aint anything you can do about that.

id say map it on a dastek for simplicity. (and the fact they are here in fife)

ive not priced up suspension upgrades, but i'd budget £100 on polybushes and £600 on coilovers.
 
We're talking almost £2000 now haha. I'll have to have a think I have the money just wanting to see if it would be worth it. Would be something really special tho :D. I wasn't going to tune her till april time next year. You've been an awesome help and I will be in deffo be in touch. I think we might be making a monster together in the next 6 months ;)
