1.8 Owners Question

I have to say I'm not too keen on 'modern' car design. Some is pretty good but a lot of it is too fussy for my liking and designers all seem to be taking cues off each other.

Though there are a couple of niggles I actually love the N15 shape and the N16 shape has really grown on me (though I still am not keen on the grille).

Yeah but tbh thats just car design, everyone copies each other.

N15s, golfs, astras, ibizas etc from the same era all look pretty much the same.

Just like modern civics, astras etc all have the same shape.

It's with older cars that you notice more, as there is a wider selection to see.

Although personally I prefer the N15s looks to anything newer, I'm just really sad like that.

Yeah the old Corolla of the same era to the N15 has similarities. New car design on the whole is not my taste at all. Bulging headlights and curvy shapes, and don't even get me started with Nissan's latest. Only Audi seem to stay on track, and I even like the new Kia Pro_Ceed.

Whether a car is new or old doesnt matter, it's just down to whether it looks good :) Take the Lancia Delta for example... georgous.

You could always go for an oil burner N16? :D Power and ecconomy. I think you'd be pleasently surprised.

oh i totally agree, some cars have become retro classics, mk1 golfs look class, and even to a point even some fords, but imo theres no classic retro japanese cars, they just seem to look dated really quickly.

what cars out there look like an n16? the shape is astra/civic but the styling is pretty original
