17" Alloys - will they fit?

you need to open an account in photobucket up load it on their and cut and paste the image code on here xx
there may be a more detailed thread in the search x

hi guys, just been reading the thread about 17"alloys,i have a 2003 n16 sxe on standard shocks,i to am wanting to change the alloys, would anyone know if 18" alloys would fit with 215 45 18" tyres on?. any photos would be a good help.....cheers guys.

Yes I thought it looked really cool too. Nice rims on it. lol Not sure what to do next with my N16.

hey, sorry to but in. Im thinking of buying a set of 215/45/17s. Will they fit ok or will i need the arches rolled, spacers etc?

I honestly wouldnt recomend getting larger alloys, ive just celebrated going from 17's back to my lightweigh 15's

Also got round to weighin the alloys:

My beloved Rozest's with tyres 12.4Kg's
GTi Alloy & tyres = 16.5
Aez Xylo 17'' was a whoppin 20.4kg's :feint:

Might not seem a great deal but if you look at the front axle alone my Rozest's come in at 24.8kg's vs 40.8kg's for the Aez 17's

Or complete rolling rotational mass (all four rolling wheels combined) = 49.6kg's for the Rozests vs 81.6kg's

With a rotational mass being accelerated that forced is amplified.. on driving feel it makes a difference everywhere much more rimble in sharp left right turns. Acceleration much improved but mostly noticed is breaking just soo damn smooth!

You might aswell give up all ideas of performance in a straight line then

I'm not too worried about straight line performance, just wondering if they will rub or not? All the 17" wheels ive seen are 205/40s but i can get a set of 215/45s quite cheap so just curious if they will fit

19's are cool though :shifty:
