aftermarket p1 rear lights?

if your tinting your lights dont forget the reflectors still need to work.

im sure tinting spray comes off with nail polish remover

i have some p2s for sale hint hint lol

lol, i've not really got much money for mods right now after just buying the car but how much are you wanting anyway? might be able to scrounge :D

im going to try and get some phase 2's then once iv got some have a go at doing a light tint on the phase 1's and decide which i like more, and if i mess up the phase 1's at least i can swap the phase 2's onto the car and not be stuck with no lights

if your after cheap phase 2's get around your local scrappy, be about a 1/5 of the price you will pay on here for them

yeah, i'm gona take a look/phone around that scrappys sometime see what i can get, i want some standard wheels too, will be selling my alloys as soon as i get the car on wednesday :D

would recommend going there in person if i was you, always seem to get better prices if your there in person and its easier to haggle with them then. make sure you get a price before you get them off the car, once you have taken them off the car they can be pretty sure your not going to walk off for the sake of £20.

would aim to pay maybe £30 at the most if i was you, whatever they quote you can haggle anyway and there money is made in the metal, anything else is a bonus so dont let them rip you off!

sorry if that all sounds a bit obvious, just things iv picked up on going around scrappys for the past few years, tbh they actually seem quite happy to haggle around here!

Yeah, i'll be phoning to see if they have the parts (apparently they have a computerised stocking system) then going along to haggle/collect.

thanks for the advice though :)

Sorry for late addition to thread, half tinted rear lights for your enjoyment.

Mask off the red area of the light and anything else not wanting to be painted. Apply one light coat of spray as a sort of primer, leave to dry totally then build up layers of the spray. i used 3 coats as well as the 1st primer coat. spray at a few inches away as it is quite thick stuff and will run if your not careful. the stuff i use is called 'savage light tinting spray' retail at about 12 quid a tin.

ahh yeah I know the stuff your on about, seen it over the weekend actually... but if you spray the light completly... does it afftect the reflectors or does it matter when it comes to mot??

that looks pretty good actually but i think it'd only really work on a black car. i'm just gona keep my standard lights till i get funds :)

Yeah but buy a new set of lights when it comes to mot?? If that was the case I wouldnt bother!! lol

just wondering as wouldnt it not cover up the reflectors in the lights??..

well what do you think? your spraying something onto the light, its COVERING the light, i think theres an answer there.

Yes I know that, but if its how you say, then how does the light still flash if its covered?? Bit daft saying that as I know we know it still works, but it might have been different from the reflectors, if I knew I wouldnt have said anything, thats why I asked the question just incase...

The spray is slightly transparent so reflectors are not affected. the nissan has had an mot with tinted lights and my starlet had 3.

looking at the tints on the back of your car Damo, i think it would be good if you stuck a piece of tape in the middle of the reversing light part and then sprayed it.
after taking the tape off you've still got a 2"by 3" clear part on the lights, would look good then

Freind of mines e30 bmw looks like that with a clear section taped off, does look good. Something to think about....

Could do led ones like mine but they are a twat and when 1 led goes it means taking them to bits to swap it hence only half of mine working lol
