i can select 1st easily when coming up to lights, but i usually blip the throttle when changing down the gears, barely feel the gear changes that way and it doesnt make a horrid whineing sound when you select first from too fast.
also have issues with 1st gear when trying to select it at lights or slowing down. seems to be ok if I push the clutch pedal right to the floor, as in a lot further than needed for other gear changes.
That sounds daft reading back, maybe I'm doing something very wrong
It normal for nissan gearboxes to be difficult to get into 1 st and revers, I've had 5 different nissan models from new and the have all had this problem.
first is deleberately difficult to get into unless stationary, or having bliped the throttle. sometimes if you hold the clutch in too long before selecting reverse the gears aren't lined up and you have to let the clutch out so they can rotate a bit. nothing out of the ordinary really.
