Hi, i've been searching around for a BMC induction kit for my 1.4 Si 'mera after seeing a couple on here. Ive looked through various websites but cant seem to find one specific for the Almera. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!
Yep, it's the universal kit, the smaller one will be fine for a 1.4. The GA has the TB vertically mounted in the middle of the engine bay so you will need a length of pipe/duct to go between the TB & filter and a 90* section to connect the TB to the new pipe. Have a look at Rajackson's home made BMC for a better explanantion.
Right, umm ive contactd regal motorsports and they said they can supply the parts i need. Two quick questions though, first is should i get a DIA 70-130 or a CDA? and second i got the pipework to be approx 70mm, does this sound remotely like what it should be?!
comments please....
Hopelessness has a DIA on his 1.4 I believe so he can tell you if it's any good or not . The CDA is quite expensive and might not be worth it for you needs.
Don't bother with the CDA, it's just for bling factor. The DIA is the same filter just made of plastic, not carbon. I'd say go for the 1.6+ filter too, because it'll be usable if you ever get another car / engine etc. Also, you should route the intake away from the throttle body, and run a cold air intake to the front of the car.
Ill probs just go for a plastic one guys, simply because it is so much cheaper.
Are they easy to install or would you recommend getting it done properly?
Its really like buying a hotshot header instead of some unknown brand header off ebay, a conessour in intake filters would go for BMC CDA and in that sense would also pick the hotshot
Interested in the welding, bend/curve or the pipe etc etc
But also DIA sales have been reduced any there isnt really many floating about, CDA is where its at yo
If funds are an issue theres always the Apiro copy of the cda i picked a second had one up ages ago for a tenner. Yes the filters not as good (wire mesh, though i think they did varients) but it still does the same thing essentially.
