cheap way to 180bhp?

What would i need to do to get the gti to about 180bhp on the flywheel? Dont want to turbo it either. I was told elsewhere im looking at over £1000 to get it to this, true or not?

so far car running as standard except decat. first port of call is full service (part done, oil / plugs to do) so whats next? manifold/full exhaust system, cams, induction and chip? how much if i got them all second hand for instance?

S3R cams
VE pistons
everything lightend pullys flywheel crank ect..
421 header an atlest a 2.5 ich cat back and decat
some form of air filter enclosed or not its your choice

and a GOOD full remap..

all that should get you there so yeah a grand and abit..

my sig below minus the ASP header (had Jperformance 4-2-1 at the time) & pullies made 177bhp untuned on the rollers. tuned would have been 180bhp or more. with this header, pullies and tuning who knows.

complete exhaust system on my car now cost me 760 notes alone

* by tuning i mean fuel pressure set up and ignition timing advanced

yeah bolt on mods just

Tomei Poncams orJWT S3R's (there are a couple others)
4-2-1 header with 2.5' downpipe
2.5’decat
2.25' mandrel cat back
panel filter or WAI with cold air feed
lightweight flywheel & good clutch
timing advance
afpr
UR pullies

will see you to 180hp+ if engine is running good with nice compressions across the board

Power figures are for pub talk.
If you wanna go fast cheap, buy a used Wet nitrous kit off Ebay, plumb it all in yourself to activate at Wide Open Throttle, slap in some 75 or even 100 shot jets, knock back your ignition timing by about 2 or 3 degrees, and off you go.
For £200 it'll be the easiest and cheapest way of achieving your goal.

Yet only a handful of people have done it! I don't have the balls for it but it could be fun!

Dont forgot about changing the spark plugs for a step colder :)

Was wanting to do this, but insurance wont allow :(

Cheaper than wasting cash on Intake/Exhaust/Manifold/Camshafts/FPR/Lightweight bits etc and only getting standard power lol.

You arent going to use Nitrious permenantly though, so you will end up spending shit loads on refills.

Id get bigger cams, up the compression, remap and the usual bolt ons.

Shit man hes got enough nos in there to blow him self up.. period!!

you love it ross dont lie! its like a comfey pair of slippers!
