Chris180's New GTi

It's just the way the light is catching the spokes. Satin or matt black can easily look like dark gunmetal in the right light. Could well be dark grey, but then that dark a grey always just looks like satin black to me.

yeh i'm with ed on this, this is why i don't like matt black wheels very much - especially on wheel designs like gti wheels, slips - anything with big, wide, flat areas.

On ones like the mclaren the thin spokes and angles catch more light and make them look more defined and detailed. Whereas your slips chris, even in the identical colour to the mclaren, would always look a bit shapeless imo.

Bought new tyres yesterday then Ross told me he was breaking car and finally can get the lightweight good wheels since I was asking for them since he first got them.
I don't know whether to still get the new tyres fitted on the Slips and buy still the alloys then can chop and change when I want. Or cancel the tyre order and sell the Rotas. I don't really need the money tbh at the moment so thinking might just get the tyres and buy the gold alloys but could someone do me a huge favour to help me decide to either keep the tyre order or cancel it and 'shop my car with standard wheels in the gold?

Not your car but here's my BS7 VZR with genuine tech wheels on

no they aren't forged, they have been lightened by removing material from the design, iirc ross said the spokes aren't as thick, and some other changes
