Colour coded door handles

I was thinking about colour coding my door handles because i think they stand out like a sore thumb after i recently colour coded my bumpstrips and mirrors. I was just wondering how i would go about this. Ive read on another thread that its quite hard to take the handles off without damaging something so i was thinking about just masking them off and spraying them while still on the car.
My main worry is that the paint will just chip or get scratched off easily over time which will look pants and how i would spray the part that shows when you pull the handle up.

Any advice? and if you can, could you post some pics of colour coded door handles on your Almera's so i have an idea of what it will look like

Haha! Well i know when a bodyshop paint's on a plastic bumper or handle they add a chemical with the paint that stop's the paint from flaking off over time, don't know if you can buy it and mix it yourself though.

Its easy enough removing the handles. A good, long lasting finish is all in the prep work. The handles need to throughly keyed and then coated with plastic primer......then given 2-3 coats of top coat. I wouldn`t bother with clear coat on such a small item.
 
Alternativley arent Primeras handles colour coded as standard? (P11 I presume, but im not certain) and a straight swap? shouldnt be too hard to find some if you want to save the effort.

Yeah I remember some one had some chrome ones on there mera.

its the p10 primera ones that are a straight swap as i fitted the chrome ones onto me almera

I had colour coded handles on my 1st GTI.

I bought the P10 chrome handles, sanded, primed and sprayed them.

Its pretty simple, the hardest bit is taking the handles apart for painting, and putting them back together.

The chrome ment that they were a perfectly smooth finish, not bumpy like the Almeras ones.
