Colour coded door handles

Im planning on colour coding my door handles soon. Just curious about what I should do about the textured plastic on the handles. What should I do with it? Should I sand them down a bit or just spray them how they are? How will they turn out etc....

heard some people use high build primer to remove the texture finishes

mine were factory colour coded, as were my mirrors .
