ebay mera throttle body bypass

Yeah it's not some chav speak for decent  There is a wheels manufacturer called Dezent.

17" 5 spoke alloys made by Dezent mate at a guess:P

Haha i thought he was trying to spell decent. There really is a make called Dezent. What a terrible name. I'd have liked to have seen that board meeting...

"so guys, we need a decent name for a new range of wheels"
"Slow down i'm trying to type exactly what you're saying"
"read back what you've typed"
"Urika!"

Its the coolant lines that run too and from the throttle body, they'll have been disconnected and joined together. The theory is colder throttle body, the reality is usually wank idle and not much else

only really on older carbed cars

think about, leave your car overnight,

start it up, does it idle crap? no.

this will just mean that the throttle body stays cooler, so less heat is transferred to the air going through it.

quite commonly done on handa's.

and if ya thinking, the air isnt in there long enough to make a difference, so there is no point

think of a turbo'd car, with an intercooler, the air is in the intercooler for the same time, if not less, as the air in an na throttle body.

people on here have tried re-routing the coolant pipes and as alan said, found dodgy idle.

your theory is right, but in reality some problems arise on the SR20.

maybe the ECU is programmed to compensate for the warming of the air or something.

It definately doesnt work on the GA, mine hated it. Its alright on my SR though (part of the thermoblok spacer kit is a coolant bypass connector)

the GA is a tempermental engine though isn't it.

mine idled lumpy as bugger when i put the induction kit on till wezz breathed on it

i dread to think how mine is going to react when my cams arrive

I dunno, I wouldnt say mine was ever that bad, most reliable engine in a car ive had. It didnt like coolant bypass though, but everything else it was alright with. Setting idle was a bit annoying but adjusting timing was easy. I think it'll be alright with new cams

Off subject slightly, but on your old SRI... what did u managed to dyno.. kept any figures for 1/4 and things like that as to my knowlage you have done the most to a GA engine on here NA wise

Never dynoed or 1/4 miled unfortunately. If you fit a fidanza flywheel to your car, you will have pretty much the exact spec i had.

It revved like bike! It made a massive difference compared to what it did on my SR. It honestly use to start up almost instantly. Definately made a big difference in 1st and 2nd.
