I've just bouth a standard Phase 2 Almera GTi. What's the best fuel to put in it, Shell Optimax?
 
Higher RON , better results.. optimax being at the top on the list of readily availible fuels , and the most expensive.

Second most expensive - BP Ultimate always seems to cost more (up here anyway) but they're basically the same.

There's been numerous posts over this subject on this and other forums, with Optimax basically winning the battle.
 
Sainsbury`s also do 97 RON super and its a lot cheaper than shell. BP sucks.
 
I think the Shell Optimax is 98 RON. Im currently trying to see how far I can get on a full tank of the stuff. At the moment it looks as if you can thrash it a bit more and still get as much miles as regular unleaded would while driving normally.
 
Im not sure what octane the sainbury`s is but it is higher doubt however it would be as good as optimax
